Egypt's Eastern Company Q1 profit up 66 per cent

Egypt's cigarette monopoly Eastern Company posted a first quarter net profit of 121 million Egyptian pounds, up 66 per cent from a year earlier, the stock exchange said on Sunday.

The firm's financial year begins on 1 July.

Eastern Company made a net profit of 72.8 million pounds in the same quarter of last year, the bourse said.
