Egypt orders closure of Ipsos Cairo office: Manpower ministry

The closure order for the market research firm's Cairo office cites health and safety violations

Egypt's Ministry of Manpower has ordered the closure of the Cairo office of leading market research firm Ipsos, citing workplace health and safety violations, a ministry decree dated 20 June shows.

The decree was made public by local media late Saturday. A spokesman confirmed its authenticity to Reuters. He said Cairo local authorities had yet to carry out the order.

Ipsos, a global market research firm headquartered in France, conducts audience research for Egyptian television networks. Ipsos officials in France and Egypt were not immediately available for comment.
