On Wednesday, Cairo Criminal Court will pursue the case against Six of October Development & Investment (SODIC) for alleged corruption in land acquisition.

Ibrahim Suleiman, former housing minister, and Magdi Rasekh, the former chairman of SODIC and father-in-law to Alaa Mubarak,  are accused of violation of the law regulating tenders and auctions, along with four former officials of the New Urban Communities Authorities.

Suleiman enabled Rasekh to acquire state land at an illegally low price, costing the state LE 970 million in lost revenues from the sale.

Rasekh fled the country in July.
