Egypt's benchmark EGX30 index Sunday closed down 3.4 per cent, recording 3.782.74 points.

Only two of the 176 listed stocks rose in the day, with 168 plunging in a session which recorded a turnover of just LE 54.6 million.

Broader indices tumbled too, as the EGX70 and EGX100 saw losses of 4.4 and 4 per cent respectively.
