Remittances from Egypt expats up 24.1% year-on-year in first 8 months of FY 2017/18

Egypt's Ministry of Finance announced that remittances from Egyptian expatriates sent in the first eight months of the fiscal year 2017/2018 had increased by $3.4 billion, or 24.1 percent, year-on-year.

According to a report issued by the ministry on Sunday, personal remittances amounted to $17.3 billion from July 2017 to February 2018, compared with $13.9 billion in the same period in the 2016/2017 fiscal year.

The Egyptian fiscal year runs from 1 July to 30 June.
