Egyptian stocks are taking significant losses in early Sunday trade, the benchmark EGX30 down 1.92 per cent at 5,046.7 points just before midday.
Current turnover is around LE85.9 million ($14.23m), with trade focused on Orascom Telecom, Orascom Telecom Media Technology and Medinat Nasr Housing.
The main index saw three sessions of gains towards the close of last week, although turnover was limited.
