Egyptian stocks have taken their first losses in five sessions, the benchmark EGX30 sliding 0.48 per cent to 5,032 points by the close of Wednesday's session.
The broader EGX70 also slipped a more modest 0.11 per cent.
Total trading volume was over LE290 million ($48m), with interest focused on EFG-Hermes and Mobinil.
