Egypt's banks close early on Wednesday due to clashes

Banks closed at noon on Wednesday after widespread violence in Cairo and regional cities

The Central Bank of Egypt decided on Wednesday to order domestic banks which are located near areas witnessing clashes between the supporters of the ousted Islamist president Mohamed Morsi and security forces to close early.

The banks closed their doors at noon.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Egyptian police forces began the dispersing the two main sit-ins by Morsi's supporters in Cairo.
