The Iraqi Ministry of Electricity launched a bid, inviting foreign companies to build three new electricity power stations, to enhance the country capacity by 1250 megawatt, according to Reuters.

Two stations will be built in the governates of Al Basra, and Al Najaf  with a capacity of 500 megawatt, and another with 250 megawatt capacity in Al Anbar.

The bids will take place next week.

The Iraqi government is aiming to triple the electricity capacity of the country in four years to 27, 000 megawatt, as the American invasion in 2003 devastated the oil-rich country's infrastructure.
