Egypt's irrigation minister in discussions with EU delegation over 1 mn feddan project

The meeting comes on the margins of the Egypt Economic Development Conference in Sharm El-Sheikh

Egypt’s Minister of Irrigation Hossam Moghazi met with European Union delegation to discuss Egypt’s One Million Feddan land reclamation project, state media reports.

The project is part of a larger scheme to reclaim a total of four million feddans (acres) of land for cultivation, including land outside the Nile Valley, home to most of Egypt’s arable land.

The project is was a cornerstone of President El-Sisi’s electoral programme.
