الغاوى ينقط بطاقيته
El ghawi yenaqqat be taqitu
Translation: Show your fondness with a gift, even if it's just your skullcap.
Meaning: A true fan, of a game or an art, would give away everything to be part of it, and then some. The taqiya, or skullcap, is symbolic: it is of little value but also absolutely necessary. No respectable person would go around with their head bare, or at least this was the tradition until only a few decades ago. So, imagine the sacrifice when someone has to offer their taqiya in admiration for his favourite singer or dancer.
