 زي الفريك ما يحبش شريك

Zayy el fereek, ma yehebbeshshereek

Translation: Like cracked green wheat, doesn’t like partners

Meaning: You’ll still hear this saying from time to time, mostly used in a humorous manner. A friend may say it when they want some quality time with you. They don’t want you to invite them to a big party, but want you to meet up for coffee. They have private things to tell you, want to catch up, want your divided attention. The humorous use of this countryside culinary saying is intended to put a smile on your face. So if this happens, try to get out of your way and give them the quality time they ask for.
