ما شافهمش وهما بيسرقوا، شافهم وهما بيتحاسبوا
Ma shafhomsh we hommabeyesraqu, shafhom we homma beyethasbu
Translation: He didn’t see them stealing, he saw them dividing the loot.
Meaning: Thieves may be smart enough to steal things quietly, but they often quarrel over dividing the loot, and that’s when they get caught. This saying, still in use, refers to misconduct that is not immediately discovered, but inferred from the later actions of the guilty party.
