زى ليالى الشتا طويلة و باردة
Zayy Layali el sheta, tawila we barda
Translation: Like winter nights, long and cold.
Meaning: This is less of a proverb and more of a literary image. It can describe anything that is tortuous and seemingly endless and is used more in writing than in speech.
