النجوم في السما اقرب لك

El nogoum fel sama aqrab lak

Translation: The stars in heaven are closer to you

Meaning: Not on your life, not a chance. Mostly you’d hear it as a line delivered in black and white movies by a woman who is rejecting an persistent suiter. It is rarely used in other contexts, but it could be said in reference to a third person. "El-nogoum fel sama aqrab lo,” (the stars in heaven are closer to him) is perhaps a suitable thing to say about an overly ambitious colleague who eyes the boss’s job.
