Mohamed Morsi, head of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), said on Wednesday that the incoming parliamentary majority would appoint a new, coalition government.
Preliminary results show the FJP leading Egypt’s first post-Mubarak parliamentary polls.
Morsi added that the high turnout rate in Monday’s and Tuesday’s vote, which exceeded 40 per cent, had illustrated high levels of political awareness among the Egyptian public.
