Official results of Egypt's People's Assembly elections will be announced Saturday, 21 January.

Head of the Supreme Electoral Commission Abdel-Moez Ibrahim will announce Saturday the official voting results for the lower legislative house, which took place in three stages from 28 November through to mid-January at a press conference.

Polling statistics reveal that the Muslim Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party secured the highest number of seats in the upcoming lower house, followed by the Salafist Nour Party with the liberal Wafd Party and Egyptian Bloc coalition following in the Islamists' trail.

Ibrahim is also expected to announce details of the Shura Council (Upper House) elections, which are due to run from 29 January until 22 February over two rounds.
