Tunisia coach Sami Trabelsi has expressed his dissatisfaction after Friday’s 2-0 friendly loss against Ivory Coast in the countdown to the coming African Cup of Nations.
Premier League stars Salmon Kalou and Didier Drogba both scored for the Elephants to worsen the situation of the Carthage Eagles before the anticipated tournament that will be hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea from 21 January until 12 February.
“Our performance was not good at all. The team still has a lot to do with the midfield, attack and control of both ball and pitch,” Trabelsi was quoted by Reuters as saying after the match.
“Most of our players are not at their top form yet. We can deliver a better performance and we must be well prepared for the tournament and facing big teams like Ivory Coast,” the former Tunisia defender added.
Tunisia are in Group C with co-hosts Gabon, Morocco and Niger and have completed their warm-ups after a win and draw against Spanish regional sides and a 3-0 victory over Sudan in the United Arab Emirates last Monday.
