Egypt finance minister urges citizens to be proactive and go vote

Mumtaz Al-Said urges all Egyptians to take part in choosing their next president; popular participation will help boost the economy

Mumtaz Al-Said, finance minister, after voting Thursday urged citizens in a press release to be proactive and take part in the electoral process since it is the first step towards a "real democratic transition," will "boom the economy," and help "regain political and social stability."

Al-Said said that heavy participation in the electoral process would confirm to the world that Egyptians are determined to build a better future.

The minister also added that strong will and persistence are what enabled the Egyptian economy to withstand recent turbulence and surpass the economic crisis.
