Egyptiian rowers Nadia Negm and Abdel-Khaleq El-Banna have waved the Rio 2016 Olympics goodbye after putting in great displays in the tournament.

The 28-year-old El-Banna finished fourth in the Final D timing 6:54.94, coming tenth overall.

This means that the best-ever Olympic rowing achievement recorded by an Egyptian still belongs to Ali Ibrahim, who finished eighth in the Atlanta 1996 tournament.

Negm meanwhile recorded the best-ever placing by a female Egyptian rower at the Olympics after finishing sixth in the Single Sculls Women's Final D.
