The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) said on Tuesday that the six stadiums which will host the African Cup of Nations have been shut to be renovated in time for the summer tournament.
Cairo's International Stadium, Al-Salam, Ismailia, Alexandria, Port Said and Suez venues are set to host the 24-team tournament.
The EFA said on its official Facebook page it had picked alternative stadiums for the domestic games in the Egyptian Premier League and Egypt Cup.
Egypt will stage the Nations Cup for the fifth time after hosting it in 1959, 1974, 1986 and 2006.
The tournament will take place from 21 June to 13 July, having been moved from January/February to avoid club-versus-country clashes.
