Pyramids' center-back Ahmed Ayman Mansour was rewarded for some consistent displays over the past three seasons, which caught the eyes of many observers.
With Egypt coach Javier Aguirre mainly relying on Ahmed Hegazi and Baher El-Mohamadi as his regular choices in the heart of defence, Mansour is likely to be their understudy at the Nations Cup.
The 25-year old joined big-spending club Pyrmaids in July 2018 after producing some solid displays with Port Said-based club Masry the previous two seasons.
He continued to shine this season, proving himself a key player for Pyramids. He scored three goals in 28 league appearances to help the team compete for the title until the final stage of the season.
Mansour made his debut with Egypt last March, playing the full 90 minutes in a 1-1 draw with Niger in the final round of the Nations Cup qualifiers.
Ahmed, the son of former Egypt and Zamalek forward Ayman Mansour, also featured in two friendly matches against Nigeria and Tanzania.
