The Mice Room (Oddet El-Feran) will be released by Zawya Distribution on Wednesday 9 September with screenings in Cairo's Zawya art house cinema and in Amir Cinema in downtown Alexandria.
The distribution company is a new venture by Zawya Cinema and Misr International Films. It aspires to create a platform that caters to the ever-growing number of Egyptian independent films produced yearly.
Through Zawya Distribution, these films will receive a genuine chance of being released theatrically, on TV, on VOD and other forms of exhibition," Zawya’s official press release announced in May.
The Mice Room is directed and written by Ahmed Magdy Morsy, Hend Bakr, Mayye Zayed, Mohamad El-Hadidi, Mohamed Zedan and Nermeen Salem. Zawya will screen the film for two weeks, while Amir Cinema will screen it for one week.
The film was officially selected for Dubai International Film Festival and Sao Paulo International Film Festival.
English subtitles will be available.
