'Indelible,' a photography exhibition by renowned photographer and photojournalist Randa Shaath, will open at the American University in Cairo (AUC) on Wednesday, 13 April, and will run until 18 May.
Shaath will be present at the opening reception which is scheduled for 1pm on 13 April.
Between 21 February and 5 April, Indelible was exhibited at Garden City's Gypsum Gallery.
In this exhibition, Shaath poses the question, “When does one feel at home?” which she explores "through a suite of more than 40 colour photographs that she has been working on for the last two years,” the event description reads.
“She takes her camera inside the homes of family and friends and acknowledges ordinary and familiar objects, moments, and spaces that we often overlook, granting them a grace that evokes the people that breathe life into them,” the description adds.
Shaath is a professor of photography at the American University in Cairo. She is a former photo editor at Al-Shorouk daily newspaper, and was also a photographer for Al-Ahram Weekly from 1994 to 2005.
Her repertoire comprises three monographs, including Watani ala Marma Haggar (1988), Misr Umm El-Dunia (1990), and Under the Same Sky: Cairo (2003).

The exhibition opens 13 April at 1pm and runs till 18 May (Sunday through Thursday, from 10am to 5pm)
