The Hakawy International Arts Festival for Children returns in its seventh edition, building up on six years of success, this time taking place in three cities; Cairo, Alexandria and Luxor.

The festival will run in Cairo between 7 and 12 March at Hanager Arts Center, then will proceed to take place in Alexandria on 14 March at the Jesuit Garage, and on 16 March in Luxor’s Youth Village El-Tud.

This edition will include different shows including storytelling, puppet theatre and object theatre, as well as workshops for children.

Additionally, for the first time students of the Youth and School Exchanging (YSE) will present an original play of 3 parts, inspired by the Book Tales of Ancient Egypt.

Hakawy festival is organised by AFCA, an independent organisation aiming at using arts as tool in children education. Using Arabic, French, and English languages in its programmes, AFCA encourages children and youth creativity while developing personal skills.
