Following closing of 5th edition of India by the Nile festival (8 March and 27 April), another face of India will be presented through a short festival dedicated to Indian Nobel-laureate, Rabindranath Tagore. The Tagore festival run between 8 to 12 May with three events in Cairo and one in Alexandria

Originally from Bengal, Tagore (1861-1941) was a remarkable philosopher and artist credited with reshaping Bengali literature and music and moving Indian art towards contextual modernism.

Tagore was awarded the Nobel Prize for literature in 1913, becoming the first non-European recipient of the prestigious award.
