Silent Night by Silhouette troupe (Photo: part of promotional material)
The Silhouette troupe will perform their Silent Night mime show at the Falaki Theatre in Cairo on 3 February.
The troupe, which seeks to expand the art of mime in Egypt, created the Silent Night show as a mixture of mime, pantomime, and silent performance movements.
It is comprised of three sections: El-Khalq (Creation); Mommel (Boring); and Pascalia. Two of the sections are directed by Abdelrahman El-Kady and one by Abdallah Sultan.
Silhouette was founded in 2012, since which time they have produced several silent performances around Cairo, including the Last Pyramid show.
Their most recent performance of Pascalia was the winner of El-Sawy Culture Wheel's Mime Festival in 2017.
Programme:
3 February, at 6pm and 8pm
AUC Falaki theatre and Gallery, 24 Falaki St., Downtown, Cairo
