Renowned Lebanese composer Ziad Rahbani will perform in Cairo on 30 November at Manara Hall.

The Cairo concert comes after a five-year absence from Egypt where Rahbani performed at the Cairo Jazz festival in (2013). He will be accompanied by an orchestra of 50 musicians.

Rahbani is expected to play music from his long repertoire that goes back to the 1970s.

He had previously mentioned a recent cooperation with his mother, the iconic singer Fayrouz, but the new songs are yet to be released.

Rahbani was born in Lebanon in 1956 to two of Lebanon's most popular musicians; Aasy El-Rahbani and Fayrouz.

The musician has many popular albums in addition to his contributions to theatre and literature.

Rahbani is also a political commentator, publishing in Lebanese papers and appearing regularly on the radio.
