Maryam Wageeh, the first student with a disability at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University inaugurated the exhibition of visual artist Ashraf Reda, former head of the Egyptian Academy in Rome.
The exhibition opened at Zamalek Art gallery on 16 December.
The show carries the title ‘Silence of the Body,’ where the artist is showcasing 44 paintings of different sizes reflecting a new experience in the art of expression and visual dialogue.
‘Silence of the Body’ is a double exhibition of paintings by Reda and photography by renowned photographer Ayman Lotfy.
The opening of the exhibition was attended by former information minister Anas Al-Fiki, owner of the Picasso Gallery Ibrahim Picasso, former head of the Fine Arts Sector Ahmed Nawar, photographer Ayman Lotfy, hairstylist Ahmed El-Soghayar, and veteran painter Farghali Abdel-Hafeez.
The exhibition will remain on view at the gallery's Venue II until 6 January.
