Egyptian band Wust El-Balad, which played a key role in shaping Egypt’s underground scene with their success in the 2000s, are performing at Alexandria's Roman Theater in Kom El-Dikka on Friday 26 July, amid the Cairo Opera House's Summer Festival.

The group, that remained successful after changes in their formation, released their last album, 'Bantalony El-Jeans,' last year — their fourth after Wust El-Balad (2007), Rubabekya (2011) and Karakib (2014).

Wust El-Balad is celebrating the return of their singer Adham El-Saeid, known for his great mawal and traditional singing performance, after many absences in past years due to his moving to Germany.

Nine known bands and singers will perform at the historic theatre, starting with Ayamna El-Helwa, then Medhat Saleh, Black Theama, Massar Egbari, Wust El-Balad and SoundTrack Orchestra, with Al-Nafikha and Taksir Sharki to perform at the night before Tamer Ashour closes the festival.
