Five Egyptian films to screen at Arab Film Festival in Germany

The Arab Film Festival in Tubingen and Stuttgart is one of the most important Arab film events in German-speaking countries

Egypt is participating with five films in the Arab Film Festival in Germany, which is kicking-off its fifteenth edition from 4 to 12 October in three venues in Tubingen and one in Stuttgart, screening more than 100 feature films, documentaries and short films.

EXT. Night

Three Egyptian feature films will be screened; El-Daif (The Guest), Leil Khargi (Ext. Night) and Bein Bahrin (Between Two Seas) in addition to two documentaries; A City And The Lost Art Of Happiness and Killo 64.

The festival will host films from Egypt, Algeria, Iraq, Yemen, Qatar, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine , Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia, UAE, Somalia and Djibouti.

Between Two Seas

Besides the competition section, titled the Audience Award, other programmes will be held including Panorama, Retrospective and Special Screenings.

The event is described as "an intercultural platform for diversity and tolerance," and the Shubbak section (Window to Islamic World) will show films from Muslim-majority countries including Iran, Afghanistan or Turkey.

A City And The Lost Art Of Happiness

The event will also include a side activity called Souq El-Film; a film market that aims to serve as "a bridge between culture, business and the academic world."
