The Austrian Cultural Forum is organising a free-entry film screening event for 'Gruber is Leaving' on Wednesday 12 February.

The 92-minute 2015 German production, directed by Austrian Mary Kreutzer, is based on a novel by Austrian author Doris Knecht.

Starring Manuel Rubey, Liliane Amuat and Bernadette Heerwagen, the highly rated film won the prestigious Romy prize for best camera work in 2015.

The film tells the story of the egocentric John Gruber, who in his mid-thirties is suddenly thrown off track by a cancer diagnosis by the person who unwillingly delivers the news: Sarah, a DJ from Berlin.

Programme:
Wednesday, 12 February 2020 from 19:00-22:00
Austrian Cultural Forum, Garden City, Cairo
