Egyptian actor Karim Kassem posted a short video on his Instagram account in which he shares his experience with coronavirus.
Adding the hashtag #Corona_Isn’t_a_shame, the popular 32-year-old actor talks briefly about his journey, from the moment he discovered he had been infected, three weeks ago, to full recovery.
"I got first symptoms on 17 May; they included headache, high fever and general pain in the body," he said adding that in his case the symptoms worsened for four consecutive days. In this time Kassem reached out to everyone with whom he interacted in the previous two weeks to tell them about his case. Meanwhile, tests confirmed that he had coronavirus.
"On the sixth day of my sickness I finally started feeling much better and the journey of recovery followed," Kassem stated.
Kassem decided to deal with the virus within his own capacities at home, disconnecting completely from his elderly father.
"This is my own experience, and I know that other people had much more severe experiences," and should be treated differently, he said.
Kassem underlined in the video is that anyone who suspects they have been infected with the virus should immediately inform everyone around them, especially people who were in close contact with the potentially infected person.
"It is not a shame to be infected with Covid-19. Let other people know, so you might help them," he said.
