Mony Helal was crowned Miss Egypt 2018 on Friday, qualifying her for the Miss World pageant in China in December.
“Being crowned as Miss Egypt 2018 and representing Egypt in Miss World makes me feel so proud. It is really a big responsibility,” said Helal, 26.
“I am looking forward to changing the stereotype of the beauty pageant queens; I believe that true beauty comes from inside,” she added.
Helal has contributed to charitable associations such as Misr Al-Kheir, Gannat El-Kholoud and Baseera for the Visually Impaired.
One of her main contributions is her support for the first animal protection law in Egypt, which will be soon discussed by the parliament.
She is also a former PR manager and a fashion model.
