The Nile Ritz-Carlton hotel in Cairo announced on Tuesday the appointment of Taher Hamza as the new director of catering and conference services.

According to a press release issued by the hotel, Hamza will be responsible for catering events, overseeing the planning and preparation of weddings, social events, and corporate gatherings, as well as meetings, and conferences.

The new director, according to the press release, brings over twenty-seven years of hospitality experience from multiple luxury brands and markets, along with strong food and beverage operations experience.

Hamza catered to the city’s upscale events, key ceremonies, and outside catering events in Egypt, as he held leadership positions at a number of reputable properties, the press release read.

It added that the properties Hamza has held leadership positions in include Four Seasons Cairo at The First Residence, Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at Nile Plaza, Royal Maxim Palace Kempinski, Grande Hayat, and Conrad.

Hamza started his career in the hospitality industry as a waiter at Le Meridian Cairo, the press release said.

It noted that this beginning paved the way for his promotion to catering sales assistant, catering coordinator, catering sales executive, catering sales manager, and assistant director of catering.

This was “followed by solid steps in the catering field until he accomplished his goal of becoming the director of catering,” the press release added.

“His vast operations background and knowledge, paired with his proven track record of success, makes him the ideal candidate to take catering and events to the next level of success,” the press release read.
