One day prior to its release in Egyptian movie theatres on Wednesday, 20 April, filmmakers and stars celebrated yesterday the premiere of Hepta: The Last Lecture.

"Held in Galaxy Mall of Arabia Cinema in 6th of October, the premiere night witnessed the attendance of stars Amr Youssef, Maged El-Kedwany, Ahmed Malek, Ahmed Dawood, Dina El-Sherbiny, Yasmine Raeis, Jamila Awad, Hany Adel, Salwa Mohamed Aly, Kinda Alloush, Shereen Reda Abdallah Azmi and Lina Ben Haman, as well as writer Wael Hamdy, director Hadi El-Bagoury and producers Hani Osama and Mohamed Hefzy," reads the official press release by MAD Solutions, a Cairo-based company that specialises in public relations and marketing for the film and entertainment industry.

MAD Solutions added that several other renowned figures attended the premiere, among them actors Ahmad Al-Fishawy and Amr Waked, actress and singer Bushra, director Marwan Hamed, writers Nasser Abdel Rahman, Amr Samir Atef and Ahmed Mourad, director of photography Ahmad Al-Morsy, and businessman Naguib Sawiris.

Directed by Hadi El-Bagoury, the film Hepta is an adaptation of Mohamed Sadek's bestselling novel of the same name.

The novel was adapted for the screen by Wael Hamdy, who is also known for authoring the screenplay for Mikano (2009).

El-Bagoury's previous major works include Wahed Saheh (2011) and the thriller Warda (2014).

According to information released by the producers a few weeks ago, Hepta – which means seven in Greek – takes the audience on a journey to the worn-out world of love, where Sadek traces the seven stages of the emotion: the beginning, the encounter, the relationship bond, wakefulness, truth, followed by decision, and then the ending, or the Hepta stage.
