Egyptian artist and photojournalist Heba Khalifa is scheduled to discuss her most recent project ‘Handmade’ at Cairo’s Townhouse Rawabet on Tuesday 4 October.
Khalifa graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cairo with a bachelor’s degree in set design, and went on to study at the High Institute of Art Critics. At the heart of Khalifa’s vocation is “an interest in documenting and representing women and gender issues,” reads the event description on Facebook.
The discussion with Khalifa is part of the Townhouse Salon, a monthly series of conversations that take place in Townhouse Library, and in which “a moderator – a writer, an artist, an academic –… is invited to curate a topic and share relevant texts with the public, to be deliberated upon in our gathering,” reads the event description on Facebook.
Tuesday 4 October, 6.30pm
Rawabet Theatre, 3 Hussein Al-Meamar St, Cairo, Egypt
