Art Alert: 'Who are you' exhibition to open at Cairo's Townhouse

The pieces featured emerged from Townhouse' SAWA workshop and explore links between photography and text

An exhibition titled “Who are you?” will open Sunday 12 February and run through 17 February at Cairo's Townhouse gallery.

The exhibiton is the result of Townhouse SAWA workshop, one of the educational activities the gallery hosts on a regular basis. 

The featured works include photography and text, exploring the portrait as a map of the human heart.

The works on display "reveal people’s fears, maxims and hopes," read the exhibition's description.

The participating artists are Alhoda Khamis, Samar Anwar, Rawya Sadek, Ahmed Hamed, Mahmoud Hassaballah, Soher Elhefnawy, Mostafa Hedayat, Mayar Qotb, John Perkins, Ahmed Elbadry, Zeinab Mahmoud and Thora Gerstner.
