A collective of three artists — Alessandra Respini, Lorenz Rieser and Jan Bachmann — is featured in the exhibition titled ‘I have a sensitive digestion’ which opens at Mashrabiya Gallery 2 July.

The work playfully tackles perception and challenges conventional notions through with the unusual placement of artwork on the ceiling, which can be viewed with the help of mirrors that are handed out at the entrance.

The whimsical description of the exhibition states, “When the collective was founded in February 2017, two of the three founders were sleeping. In the following months, they woke up many times to develop a common practice of perception which results in a body including a super-digesting system: le citron bleu.”

Of the three artists, Respini has previously exhibited work in Cairo as part of Futuropolis group exhibition in 2010.

The exhibition opens on 2 July at 7pm and runs till 10 July
Mashrabiya Gallery, 8, Champollion Street, Cairo
