Six women will share their different works at an exhibition titled The Cachette, which opens at Darb 1718 on 13 May.

The multimedia exhibition includes drawings, photography and installations and will showcase the results of a workshop that included Butheina Shalan, Salwa Rashad, Aliaa El-Gready, Noha Naguib, Hemat Rayan, Yasmine Hussein with the special participation of Marianne Fahmy.

During the workshop, the six participants explored and researched what the events page describes as "the archeology of women."

Some of the works concern “the woman and her connection to the space she lives in, her instinctive nature and the collective memory that she carries, as well as the connection between this memory and the society and her personal surroundings.”

However, in their works "the woman represents all of humanity, mother nature, and both genders – away from clichés and politicization of the female and her relationship with her own body."

Programme:

The exhibition opens on Sunday 13 May at 7pm
And runs till 3 June daily from 10am to 10pm
Darb 1718,  Kasr El Shamaa, Behind the Hanging Church, Old Cairo
