The Contemporary Image Collective (CIC) is to host the opening of a themed exhibition The Parenthesis Show on Sunday, 26 February.

The exhibition is a result of a workshop that has been in progress since October 2011, part of the Working Title project in collaboration with the Space for Contemporary Art and Cultural Development.

The workshop invited emerging artists Gehad Anwar, Aya El-Fallah, Mai Hamdy, Sarah Hamdy, Weaam Said and Walaa El-Sayed to work under the mentorship and guidance of Cairo based artists Doa Aly, Osama Dawod, and Ahmed Nagy. The workshop was based on mutual learning and encouraged the artists to find their own voices while debating the notion of "concepts" and "being contemporary."

The exhibition opens on 26 February at 7pm in CIC's exhibition space.

22 Abdel-Khalek Tharwat Street, Downtown, Cairo (4th Floor).
