A new exhibition called Sit down, I'll tell you a story is set to open at the Mashrabia Gallery on 20 June.

The exhibition is a collection of photographs of chairs with text telling their stories.

“A chair can tell you wishes, hopes and doubts. They are witnesses of human troubles or achievements. You can often find scars on them,” says the gallery.

The photography is by Mauro L'Abate and the text by Consuelo Costa.

The exhibition is on-going until 7 July at the Mashrabia Gallery at 8 Champollion Street in downtown Cairo.

Opening hours: Daily 11am–8pm except Fridays.
