This weekend, Cairo's cinema arthouse, Zawya will host international film project, Overview.
The Overview project invited a curator from each of its participating countries to select 30 minutes of film cuts that act as “audiovisual portraits,” reflecting current topics and the artistic level of that country.
Touring eight selected countries, international film project, Overview, will offer a global panorama of these stories, with a chance to compare and contrast each one. The project will arrive in Egypt this weekend.
In addition to providing scenes from around the world to the viewers, Overview aims to bridge people through film, offering a means of artistic conversation between the filmmakers who might exchange knowledge or collaborate in new projects.
The artists featured from Egypt are Sondos Shabayek, Dina El-Hawary, Alia Ayman, Nini Ayach, Rania Khalil and Sarah Amir Salem.
All films are subtitled in English.
