Egypt's cultural and art community say goodbye to Nour El-Sherif's at funeral

The funeral of iconic Egyptian actor Nour El-Sherif, whose body was laid to rest in south Cairo on Wednesday afternoon, was attended by a great number of his fans and many actors such as Adel Imam, Ezzat El-Alaily, Ragaa El-Gedawy, Farouk El-Fishawy.

Mourners also included Wafaa Amer, Rania Farid Shawky, Amr Youssef, Mohamed Ramadan, Hana Sheiha, Ayten Amer, Magdy Kamel, Ashraf Zaki, Mohamed Riad and Magda Zaki.

The head of Egypt's Fine Arts Sector Hamdy Abou El-Maaaty and the head of the Culture Development Fund Mohamed Abu-Seada also attended at the funeral.

Egyptian film and television actor Nour El-Sherif had died on Tuesday at the age of 70 after a long struggle with illness.

El-Sherif was one of Egypt's most prominent actors with an impressive oeuvre of around 200 films, 17 plays and more than 20 television series to his name.

The wake is set take place on Friday.
