Osiris Art Production and Training Hall
is scheduled to host an open discussion with director Tamer Mohsen on 12 February.
Mohsen’s most recent work was Taht El-Saytara (Under Control), a TV drama series that aired last Ramadan and garnered critical acclaim.
Taht El-Saytara was written by Mariam Naoum and produced by Gamal El-Adl, and starred Nelly Karim, Dhaffer Abdeen, Hany Adel, Ahmed Wafik, Jihan Fadel and Mohamed Farrag.
Three years' worth of research provided scriptwriter Mariam Naoum and director Tamer Mohsen the necessary information to deeply depict the lifestyle of drug addiction; the mental, social and psychological effects on its users and social circles, along with a portrayal of the treatment process, including its struggles and benefits.
With drug addiction still an affliction that finds very little sympathy in society, the series managed to trigger better social understanding among viewers, particularly among those who have addicts in their families.
On the other hand, the series raised awareness regarding the availability of treatment facilities and associations for drug addiction in Egypt, providing useful insight for those who lacked it.
Amongst Tamer Mohsen’s other well-known works are TV drama series Bedoun Zekr Asmaa (Without Mentioning Names), and the film Ott We Far (Cat and Mouse).
Osiris will host the director to discuss his repertoire and learn about his upcoming projects.
6pm, Friday, 12 February
Osiris, 68 Qasr Al-Aini Street, second floor, Apartment 23, Garden City, Cairo
