Winners of the Berlinale's Generation section announced

The winners of the Generation 14plus section, part of the 66th Berlin International Film Festival, were revealed on Friday.

The full list of awards are as follows:

Crystal Bear for the Best Film: Es esmu šeit (Mellow Mud) by Renārs Vimba, Latvia 2016

Special Mention: Las plantas (Plants) by Roberto Doveris, Chile 2015

Crystal Bear for the Best Short Film: Balcony by Toby Fell-Holden, Great Britain 2015

Special Mention Short Film: Kroppen är en ensam plats (The Body Is a Lonely Place) by Ida Lindgren, Sweden 2016

The Grand Prix of the Generation 14plus International Jury for the Best Film, endowed with 7,500 euros by the Bundeszentrale für Politische Bildung (Federal Agency for Civic Education): Las plantas (Plants) by Roberto Doveris, Chile 2015

Special Mention: Zhaleika by Eliza Petkova, Germany 2016

Special Prize of the Generation 14plus International Jury for the Best Short Film, endowed with 2,500 euros by the Bundeszentrale für Politische Bildung (Federal Agency for Civic Education): O noapte in Tokoriki (A Night in Tokoriki) by Roxana Stroe, Romania 2016

Special Mention: Kroppen är en ensam plats (The Body Is a Lonely Place) by Ida Lindgren, Sweden 2016

The awards ceremony will take place on Saturday.

A total of 63 feature-length and short films produced or co-produced in 35 countries were invited to participate in the two competitions Generation Kplus and Generation 14plus. The programme was selected from around 2,000 feature-length and short films submitted to Generation this year, which is more than in any year previously.
