A conversation with Mohamed Khan

Egyptian filmmaker Mohamed Khan will hold a lecture entitled ‘The City, its inhabitants and cinematic practice at the Saad Zaghloul Cultural Centre on Sunday

Khan will discuss the reason behind his fascination with the city’s inhabitants and how the cinematic gaze representing a city falls to documenting the history of the place.

Mohamed Khan is considered one of the most distinct filmmakers in Egyptian cinema. In a career spanning 30 years, within a highly contentious and commercially driven industry, he has managed so far to direct 22 feature films for general release.

The discussion will be conducted by Hassan Khan in Arabic and will be followed by an open Q and A session with the audience.

Hassan Khan is an established artist, musician and writer.

This discussion will take place on Sunday 19 December at the Saad Zaghloul Cultural Centre (2 Saad Zaghloul street in Mounira), at 7 pm. and is running in  parallel  to the exhibition FUTUROPOLIS, curated by Paul Ayoub-Geday.
