The Korean Film Festival will take place at the Creativity Center, located at the Cairo Opera grounds, screening five films across five days, between 22 and 26 May.
An opening ceremony on Sunday will be held after the screening of the opening film Catch Me (also known as Steal My Heart, 2013).
The South Korean romantic comedy that was written and directed by Lee Hyeon-jong stars Kim Ah-joong and Joo Won. The film follows the story of a police officer, who during one of his missions, finds himself face to face his ex-girlfriend, discovering he knew very little about her and faces a moral dilemma.
The other films to be screened are Mama, Born to Sing, Hot Young Bloods, How to Steal a Dog.
On Wednesday, an open discussion will be held with audiences after the film screening.
The festival is organised by the Korean Culture Center and Korea Foundation, two active players in sharing Korean culture in Egypt.
Since it’s opening in 2013, the Korean Culture Center has aimed to introduce a glimpse of Korea in Egypt, sharing the richness of Korean culture, history and art through organising various activities including dance classes and art exhibitions.
