Art Alert: Romance film Amour to screen in Cairo next week

Directed by Michael Haneke, Amour (2012) will be screened at Cairo’s Room Art & Space Café on 23 April.

The drama/ romance film revolves around a retired music couple Anne and Georges who undergo a test of love following Anne’s sudden stroke.

The two-hour movie depicts the strong relationship between both Anne and Georges who decides to ignore his physical pain to take care of his wife.

The movie, starring Jean-Louis Trintignant, Emmanuelle Riva, and Isabelle Huppert, won one Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film of the Year and was nominated for three other Oscars in 2013.
