Egyptian film Ali, the Goat and Ibrahim, will be screened between 19 June and 12 July at VOX Cinemas at Mall of the Emirates, as part of the Dubai International Film Festival’s 365@VOX initiative, according to the press release by MAD Solutions, a Cairo-based company that specialises in public relations and marketing for the film and entertainment industry.

The 365@VOX initiative aims to screen the films presented at the festival, outside of the festival during the rest of the year, so as to allow viewers to watch the best-received independent films. Ali, the Goat and Ibrahim will be the first Arab film to be screened within this new initiative.

The film, directed by Sherif El Bendary and written by Ahmed Amer, follows the story of a young man named Ali, who believes his late lover was reincarnated into a goat, who he names Nada.

On the recommendation of a psychic, he travels across Egypt with a man named Ibrahim, who is driven mad by the voices he hears in his head. The pair go on an exciting journey filled with adventure and self-discovery.

Aside from its inclusion in the 365@VOX program, the film was released in French cinemas on 7 June.
